experience or a background in sales or management to own a Le Macaron location—heck, you don’t even need any prior experience in the food service industry!

The sweet simplicity of our franchise model is that Le Macaron handles all the baking, crafting creamy gelato, and creating gourmet chocolates, while our partner, LaVazza ensures the coffee
is rich and aromatic. To excel as a Franchise Owner, all you need are great people skills, a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and the ambition to succeed. We’ve
observed that our Franchise Owners tap into their diverse backgrounds, creating meaningful connections within their communities and inspiring a passion for taking a moment to truly savor
the experience.

Our newest Franchise Owner, Joe Eckart, certainly brings an eclectic blend of experience and enthusiasm to the table. As he prepares to open his first Le Macaron location, we asked him to
share some things about himself, his journey to macaron franchise ownership, and what he thinks will make him successful in his latest venture. Here’s what he had to say:

Of all our Franchise Owners, you certainly have one of the most eclectic and interesting resumes! Tell us a bit about your background before becoming a Le Macaron Franchise
Owner.

I am a jack of all trades, master of none. I have had many jobs and am always looking for a new adventure. I have been a clown in the Clyde Beatty Cole Brothers Circus, a mortician in
Maryland and Nevada. I have been a chauffeur. I was the president of Mid-Atlantic Lambos, as well as Regional Director for Lamborghini Club America. I am a veteran of the U.S. Army. I
have won Baltimore’s Best Youth Award and later Baltimore’s Best Award. I have been an Ambassador for Peace attending the 12th World Festival of Students for Peace and Disarmament.

Wow! Sounds like you’ve been pretty busy up until now. Is there anything you enjoy
doing just for fun when you’re not working?

I enjoy outdoor living, exploring and traveling. I enjoy the finer things in life and the small things. I enjoy driving high speed cars in controlled environments and respectfully on the road.

With all of these interesting jobs and hobbies, how did the decision to own your own business factor in? What made you want to be an entrepreneur?

I just wanted to be the one in charge and get that feeling of satisfaction that I have created an environment of fun and excitement.

Tell us a little bit about how you discovered the Le Macaron opportunity.

In my search for business opportunities, a franchise consultant told me, based on several factors, that I should look into this model. I have always loved French pastries as a kid and it
kinda hit my wheelhouse.

After another franchise offer that I decided not to continue pursuing, Le Macaron seems to fit the idea of what I was looking for in a business. It has a franchise model to be successful and then
is open to allowing you to expand within the parameters of the business model. It just made sense to me.

What exactly about the Le Macaron opportunity made sense? What was it about the concept that made you want to invest?

First of all, I love food and culture, I am a people person and love to talk to and meet new people. Through the interaction and enjoyment of food, hopefully we can bring more peaceful
interactions with our fellow man.

Also, the concept of a small patisserie without the pressures of starting from scratch was a big draw. I am excited to get started and grow this business.

One of the most exciting parts of the Le Macaron franchise discovery process is attending Discovery Day at their Sarasota headquarters. What were some of your personal Discovery Day highlights?

Tasting the offerings was a hit. I also loved seeing and talking to some of the patrons that came into the stores and seeing various models of the franchise in action. I was able to see the
potential and different ways to expand awareness and increase revenue for my franchise.

The Le Macaron founders were very kind and welcoming. They seem to have a real passion for what they do and an excitement in their brand. They are family-oriented and just seem like the
type of people I would enjoy being associated with.

And now you’re a Franchise Owner. Congratulations! What are some of the things you’re looking forward to as you gear up for your grand opening?

I’m looking forward to getting open and expanding our popularity in the community. I’m excited to create a family of kind, energetic people with the crew that I will hire. I’m also looking forward
to making customers feel valued, and I’m happy I’ll have the support from the LeMacaron family to become successful.
